Gatis Sturnieks. Composer & music producer. Born in 1976 in Latvia, Riga.
He began improvising on the piano at the age of 4. Since 1983, he has been composing songs and writing lyrics.
At 16, in 1992, he co-founded the his first band with his music school classmates.
In 1994, he debuted as a solo artist with the first single. That year, he form the group Duets DIVI, which became one of the commercially successful Latvian pop groups of the 1990s.

Gatis Sturnieks new music project, muunroo, has begun its journey to listeners. The first track Late Road
The first track Late Road of the muunroo project along with music video available on YouTube.
The project is built around Gatis Sturnieks music, songs, lyrics, and music videos. The musical direction of the project is ambient - indie pop with neoclassical elements. But what will its sound be and what musical direction to attribute it to - let the listeners judge.
A special focus is given to Gatis Sturnieks piano and keyboard ad libitum improvisation style, where a piece is created in the moment during the recording process—developed through improvisation without any pre-written melody or concept.
Most of the tracks will initially be heard as adlib piano versions, from which the songs are further developed.
Work is currently underway on upcoming tracks, featuring musicians from various countries around the world.
